Family Meal Planner
Privacy Notice
Family Meal Planner ("we", "our", or "us") helps households save recipes, plan meals, and generate grocery lists. This notice explains what information the app and related public pages may handle, how that information is used, and the choices available to users.
1. Summary
Family Meal Planner may use account-based features and family-sharing features. Depending on the environment, the app may operate in local demo mode or with a hosted backend service for synchronization. The product does not currently include third-party advertising SDKs.
2. Information we may handle
- account details such as email address and display name
- household data such as family name, member roles, and invitations
- meal-planning data such as recipes, ingredients, weekly plans, preferences, and notes
- grocery list content and item completion state
- basic operational or usage-event data used to support app features
- local cache and session data stored on your device
3. How we use information
- authenticate users and maintain household access
- store and sync shared family planning data
- generate grocery lists from meal plans
- support history, reminders, and app reliability
- respond to support or beta-interest messages you send to us
4. Sharing
Information inside a family space may be visible to other members of that family according to the app's role and access model. We may also use infrastructure providers needed to host, store, or transmit app data, such as Supabase when the hosted sync mode is enabled.
We do not state that we sell personal information, and the current app configuration does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
5. Data retention
Locally cached data may remain on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Hosted account and family data may remain in service infrastructure until deleted, subject to operational backup and legal retention requirements.
6. Beta-interest and website contact data
If you contact us through the beta-interest page or by email, we may use the contact details and context you provide to respond about closed beta access, product updates, and related product research. We do not use the GitHub Pages site itself to process payments or run user accounts.
7. Your choices
- stop using the app at any time
- request removal of account-linked data by contacting us
- remove local app data by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage
8. Children
Family Meal Planner is not directed to children as a standalone consumer service.
9. Security
No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. We aim to use reasonable administrative and technical protections appropriate to the product stage and infrastructure in use.
10. International users
If you access the app from outside your home country, data may be processed in other jurisdictions where infrastructure providers operate.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will revise the effective date shown above.
